Pompano Beach, Florida, United States dived at 65 ft depth under rocks H. 37.0 mm - W. 32.7 mm

Remarks

• medium sized pectinid, normal adult sizes between 35-50mm.
• colour mostly white with black and red dots, specimens from Colombia or Panama are sometimes completely red
• colouration inside is brightly yellow with purple
• each valve has 9-10 ribs with typical cupped scales
• closely related to Caribachlamys mildredae (Bayer, 1941) but the latter has more ribs (16-20 irregular spiny ribs)
